"I grew up caring deeply about social impact, but knowing little about current events. ICS helped open my eyes to the world and encouraged me to define my civic role in it. I've taken this sense of curiosity and ownership with me everywhere I've lived. At Duke, I also minored in global health. This mix allowed me to develop a passion for social determinants and population health. I've been able to work in this after Duke, whether it's helping foundations fund SDoH programs or a mostly-Medicaid health plan figure out how to visualize population health outcomes."
"Boldly pursue the dark challenges of our world, but don't forget to look at the stars."
