Studying ICS gave me the freedom to pursue a myriad of career options, and not pigeonhole into any specific industry. Since the major is so broad, and allows you to take an eclectic group of classes, I came out of Duke confident that I had a broad skillset that would allow me to be successful in any career. Thus far, I have been able to easily show the value of my ICS degrees to my employers, and thoughtfully make career pivots between the public and private sector without any difficulties.

Advice Gagan would give Duke ICS students:

Study whatever sparks your interest since a Duke degree is highly marketable regardless. Just make sure that you make concerted efforts to become highly knowledgable in your field so take classes beyond the core, do research, and make meaningful connections with professors.
